Hello. My name is Abby. I'm eight years old and I was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome when I turned two. My parents work hard to help me make sense of the world around me and this blog is meant to help others understand my world and my journey with Rett Syndrome.

Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. We enjoyed celebrating Easter at church on Saturday and with family on Sunday. Abby enjoyed the treats, of course. She had a baby in her Easter basket that she thought was pretty cool. It talks and plays peek-a-boo using a motion sensor on it's forehead. It didn't take her long to figure out to hit the baby's head to get it to play. We have been really enjoying this awesome weather. I brought out the water tables today for the first time this year. Abby was so excited! She loves playing in the water.

Logan got a VERY short haircut for the summer.

  2. Oh my gosh! When I saw the pic of you with Logan, my first thought - without thinking - was that it must be one of the kids you watch. Then I realized - !!! When did he get so grown-up looking? Probably when you got his hair cut, LOL. It is amazing how those haircuts will make a baby boy look so much older!

    You look great, of course!

And how awesome that you found a doll that Abby can interact with so much! I am sure she loves it. She is such an amazing little girl. :) I hope we can get together again soon!

Oh, and about the doll - um, maybe Eliana and Joshua shouldn't play with it when they're over there. I'd really hate for them to get the idea that hitting the baby on the head is the way to get her to do stuff. Hee hee hee.
